Thanksgiving ;

I'm pretty sure everybody gains about ten pounds every year for Thanksgiving. So what? I like to eat (: My family celebrates Thanksgiving every year, and every year we have the whole family together. I guess Thanksgiving just makes us be Thankful for having such a bg family in the forst place. Usually my dad is the main cook. Every person has a specific job. Wether its to bring plastic forks, or make the potatoe salad. Either way everybody is special at our Thanksgiving dinner. Sadly, this year i wasn't able to spend Thanksgiving with family. This year, I am thankful for my life. I am thankful for my friends, family, my job, my school and my boyfriend (:

Familia

My family is one of a kind. They are for sure very dramatic and always have something to talk about. I consider it both disfunctional and functional. It is disfunctional becasue they are very sentimental about things. My family is very dramatic and takes things to a level that can be avoided. Everybody tries to be right and it always turns into a huge arguement. Some people in my family are very superficial. Some only talk to you when they need something, but if you call them selfish they get mad. In the other hand we do have people in my family who are always there for eachother and try to be there when somebody is down. Family is everything to me. I know for sure that whenever I need help they will help me out. No matter what the situation is, it's family over everything. (:

The Social Network ...

Is it wierd that I have Facebook opened on another tab as I write this? I don't think it is. Facebook is addicting. End of story. On an average day I check my Facebook about ten times and update my status atleast three times. Pretty psycho huh? Not really. I have friends on Facebook that are even worse. Unlike other people, I do have my family as my friends on Facebook. My mom and I are very close so it's not awckward at all. I think Facebook is a total joke sometimes though. It's a joke because some peolpe are just desprate and whatever they post they only post for attention. People only post pictures that they think they look their best at, so we actually see the real them. There is actually alot of drama involded in Facebook. Whether it is somebody saying something mean on somebody else's picture or you finding out that your boyfriend's way of braking up with you is by changing his relationship status from "in a relationship" to "single." (Which has sadly happened to me before.) In the end, Facebook can't be taken too serious, it's meant for fun!

im 18 and legal, now what?

 Most people that turn 18 would probably think "Im an adult and I can do whatever I want now!" well, that doesn't really go well with my mom. I wanted to be 18 so bad before. I would think I could live on my own, have my own car, school will be easy and I can party all the time. I wanted to get to the point where I did not  have to hear my mom tell me to clean my room or tell me to go do the dishes or that my grades are low so I have to get my ass on check, or else. Well, like they say, "be careful what you wish for" because being 18 is the most stressful stage in my life so far. My life right now consists of baying bills, working my ass of at work, having a bunch of homework; half of which I dont understand, and STILL living with my mom. So she STILL nags about me not cleaning my room, doing the dishes, and getting my ass on check because school is not going so good for me right now. I have been trying to move out for months now, but It's hard to find a good roomate that you know wont bail on you when it's time to pay rent. I am kind of stuck living with mom for a while. Being 18 is a bitter-sweet situation, yes I get alot of freedom that I didn't get before, but I also get alot of stress. Before I go to bed I dont think about how amazing my day was, I think about what bill I have to pay next, am I going to have enough money to pay that bill, did I do all of my homework and alot of other things that I will probably think about again tonight. I can't wait for me to finish college. I just want to get to a point in my life where change isn't needed. Where I can go to sleep in PEACE! (:

Oh grandma. How I love her. My grandma’s name is Rosa Maria Marquez and she is currently 53 years old. Very young huh? Well that’s a common thing in my family; everybody has babies at a very early age. My grandma is a mother of six,  and every child she had gave her at least 3 more kids, so that’s more than 18 grandchildren! My grandma is always on top of everything though. Whenever we all visit her she always has something on the stove. You can smell her kitchen spices all the way outside, and all you can think about is “yum!”  If you were to walk inside my grandma’s house you would see a lot of decorations. Nothing crazy, but she just has a lot of things that you wouldn’t see in ordinary houses. Let’s just say my grandma is very unique. Her youngest daughter is a year younger than me, so do to that my grandma always thinks she needs to be “in style.” Yea that’s right; my grandma wears Abercrombie and Fitch! Haha. She even rocks Nikes, and if anybody tries to tell her she looks silly she would say “who’s wearing the clothes, you or me?” My grandma is also very anti-men. She’s always telling me “oh Ashley, you don’t need a boyfriend. That just makes men think we need them in life.” Which she would mention at the most random times. My grandma is a hard-worker. Every day she wakes up at 3.30am to go to work at 5am. Whenever she is NOT working she has everybody at her house to catch up on everything. Whenever my grandma comes to my house all she wants to do is clean. She cleans EVERYTHING at my house, and then even cooks for us after. My grandma is very generous. She’s been through a lot and even though most people in the family would consider her nosy, we all know she is like that because she wants the best for us. I LOVE YOU ABUELA!! (:

No music ;; No life .

 

Ahhh music. There is not one day I don't listen to music. Wether it's when I'm jammin out on my way to school or in math class when I plug in my purple headphones to my IPOD. I love music. I listen to anything but country and metal, anything else I can deal with. My favorite type of music would have to be Hip-Hop and R&B, but mostly R&B. My favorite music artist is Drake. Not only do I think he is very yummy looking, but I really like his music. I really like his music because his lyrics are very relatable. He talks about heartbrakes, love, relationships, life struggles, family troubles, women, partying, ANYTHING. He has a pretty large variety. Another reason of why I like Drake's music is because unlike most rappers, he can be really deep. When Drake does his R&B songs my heart almost melts sometimes. Makes me think "why can't all guys be like him?" haha. My favorite song by Drake is "Marvin's Room." In this song he talks about him being in love with a girl who has left him for another guy. My favorite quote by him is "Live without pretending, Love without depending, Listen without defending, Speak without offending." The reason I like this quote is because it is very relatable to mostly everybody. Sometimes people pretend to be something they are not in life, so we all just have to follow our dreams and make ourslefs happy, because if we do not do it ourselfs, no one will do it for us. The quote also states we should love without depending. Sometimes we make a person our number one priority, when we are basically only an option to them. Love is crazy, and Drake is it's doctor <3 I listen to Drake every night before I fall asleep, right now it is getting late so I am going to listen to some Drake ! (: goodnight ! <3

My Writing...
     I write. Sometimes just to get my minds off of things and express my feelings on a piece of paper. Yes i know, very corny.
     I would say that my writing is nothing special. Well, atleast I don't think it is.  My favorite type of writing I would say would be one where I have to state my opinion. I like this becasue it's not very hard for me to express my feelings. Once I start writing, everything just shows up on my paper. I wait to the very last minute to start writing my paper, like most people. I feel that if I over-think the assigment I just have a whole bunch of useless sentences on my paper and it just seems boring.
     Once I DO start my paper, the first thing I do is turn on some music. No TV, it distracts me WAY too much and I get NOTHING accomplished. The hardest part of writing a paper for me would be my introduction. I feel like it just takes me way too long to make it perfect, but once I do i just go nuts. My papers actually turn out pretty good, surprisingly. At the end, I read my paper out loud. This way I can tell if my sentences make sense, and due to my english being my second language my vocabulary is sometimes not the best.
     My papers may not be the best, but I do try to be myself when I write my papers. I also try not to be so boring, because who likes to read boring papers?  NOT ME ! (:
